Sweet Stop Sketch #186

Vous aimez cette carte? Vous pouvez l'obtenir!
Do you like this card? You can get it!

For this card I followed the sketch from The Sweet Stop. The image is from Sweet November Stamps, colored with promarkers. The panels are all made with the same paper, that I machine stitched after dry embossing them : I used two different embossing folders (little crosses and squares) for added variety. I would like to enter this card in the Wild Orchid Crafts challenge (a child's Christmas) and Stamping Sensations challenge (traditional Christmas).

Sketch Saturday #235

For this card I used sketch 235 from Sketch Saturday. The image is a stamp from Lili of the Valley that I colored with promarkers. The panel just under the image is dry embossed. The strass on its corners used to be clear but I colored them red with my promarker to match the rest of the card. I would like to enter my card in the following challenges : Lili's Little Fairies (anything goes with a LOTV image), Stampin' for the Weekend (use some texture), Wags 'n Whiskers (Christmas).

Simon Says... Dawny's sketch

le sketch utilisé / the sketch I used
I made this card following Dawny's sketch for Simon Says Stamp challenge. I replaced one layer in the sketch with a large white satin ribbon. When you look at the card from some distance you only see the ribbon, then you can look closer and see the underlying paper showing through... The image is a stamp from Motivet that I colored with promarkers. I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges: I love Promarkers (singing or dancing), Hanna and Friends (animals) and Papertake Weekly (ribbons and pearls).

A little box

Recycling : this box is made of cardboard from a cereal box, that I painted with acrylic paint and then colored with wood stain. For more info on the faux-wood effect, the tutorial I followed is here.
I would like to enter my box in the  W for Wrapping challenge over at ABC Christmas Challenge and in the Three R's chalenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge (Rose, Ribbon, Red). I know there's no Christmas image on my box, but the fact that I used red and green colors and that I intend to use the box for a Christmas gift should be enough to consider it as a Christmas project, what do you think?
I'd also like to enter this box in Tuesday Alchemy "Anything but a card" challenge.

Sketch Saturday #234

Vous aimez cette carte? Vous pouvez l'avoir!
Do you like this card? You can get it!

le sketch utilisé / the sketch I used
I had some difficulties making this card. I machine stitched all the panels but I had troubles with the thread breaking just in the middle of one panel, I had to be careful on the second attempt to get the needle exactly in holes that were made on the first attempt... The sentiment is heat embossed, I hadn't used my heat gun for so long I nearly didn't remember how to use it! The image is a stamp from Penny Black, not so easy to colour with promarkers because the little flowers are so small compared to the maker nib. But anyway, I am quite pleased with the end result. What do you think?
I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday. I am entering a few challenges with Thank you theme : Simon Says Stamp, Pause Dream Enjoy and Wags And Wiskers. I am also entering the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge (theme is Stitch it up!)

The Sketchy Challenges #36

le sketch utilisé / this is the sketch I used
This is my second entry in the Traditional Christmas challenge at Wild Orchid Crafts. I used a less traditional image than in my previous card, but compensated with the music sheet and reindeer that seem very traditional to me... I used the sketch from The Sketchy Challenges, I did quite change the proportions but I'm sure you can still see the sketch in my card. The image is a stamp from Ladybug Crafts Ink that I colored with promarkers. The music notes background is also a stamp, from Whimsy Stamps. I'm entering this card in the I Love Promarkers challenge, this week the theme is Christmas trees.

Traditional Christmas

le sketch utilisé / this is the sketch I used

My main source of inspiration for making this card was the "Traditional Christmas" challenge at Wild Orchid Crafts (WOC products used : flowers and pearls). I immediately knew I had to use this Whiff of Joy angel stamp, I think it's the most "traditional looking" Christmas stamp I own. I colored it with promarkers. Of course I went for green and red for a traditional color combo.  The sketch I used is from the Sketchy Colors challenge. I also designed my card to enter the Basic Grey challenge : Swirls, Scallops and Stitches (swirls are on the paper, which comes from the Basic Grey "Jovial" collection; scallops on the matting circle around the image; stitches on all panels - I used a sewing machine).

For a baby girl

le sketch utilisé / this is the sketch I used

I made this card for two friends who just had a baby girl. I used sketch #69 from Papertake Weekly with a 90° rotation. The image is a Motivet stamp which I colored with promarkers. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the hearts are from a bracelet I never wore. I had never taken apart a metallic chain before, I imagined it would be difficult but it's not if you have two good pliers (you can find a very good tutorial here). I left two different lengths of chain for a bit of variety and attached them with strass brads : it gives the hearts some liberty to move and I quite like that...
I would like to submit my card to the Papertake Weekly challenge (this week we can use any sketch from a previous challenge), to the Wild Orchid challenge (bling it up) and to the Basic Grey challenge (Anything goes, I used the Basic Grey "Eva" paper pad).
