A thank you card

the sentiment reads "just wanted to say thanks"

Now that this card has been received, I can show it to you... My first ever stitched card! I really enjoyed making it. I sure will do it again! (but it's quite long and takes me away from my beloved promarkers, so I might not do it that often...). I used two different colors of the sew easy floss purple kit for the butterfly wings. The picture doesn't show that, but the aspect of the wings is quite different according to the angle at which you view them, due to direction in which the floss is stitched. The sketch is from the call for Paper Crafts Magazine September/October Issue (of course I received no news from them otherwise I wouldn't be showing you my card). I'd like to enter my card in the ABC Challenge: R is for Roses.

TLT - Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Make your own flowers

BFF's - Phoebe and Olivia

Hello everybody! This week's challenge at Ladybug Crafts Ink has been chosen by our Guest Designer Amanda. She chose "make your own flowers". I made only one, but it is a special one. It is made of fabric and button from my husband's old shirt (that he gave me for the purpose of craft recycling!). There are 8 scalloped circles of fabric (cut with my nestabilities), folded in 8 and glued on a circle paper base, then 4 smaller circles folded in 4 and glued over them, then the button. I had fun making it! I think it's my first use of fabric (except ribbon) on a card... I made the card using BFF's - Phoebe and Olivia. I think it's my favorite Ladybug Crafts Ink image so far...
Hope to see you in the cahllenge this week!

TLT - Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Monochrome

Vous aimez cette carte? Vous pouvez l'avoir!
Do you like this card? You can get it!

It's Totally Ladybug Tuesday again! This week I'm the one setting the challenge and I chose monochrome as the theme. I used Bon Appetite Magnum for my card. I followed the sketch from CLP Challenge. The doily, from which I cut the inside to only keep the outer circle, was part of Laura's candy: I inked it with a bronze inkpad to keep it from being too white.
Hope you feel inspired and will join the challenge!
I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday 147

Sketch Saturday 147

Une autre carte avec un tampon de Lili of the Valley.

I have another card with a Lili of the Valley image for you today. This time it's Toadstool for Two from the latest release. I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday, but changed the sizes and replaced the sentiment with a flower.

Everybody Art Challenge 133

Everybody Art Challenge 133

Une petite carte réalisée avec un tampon Lili of the Valley d'après le sketch de Everybody Art Challenge...

This is a thank you card for a late wedding present that we received through my hubby's parents. The sentiment "Merci" means thank you in French and is computer-generated. I used the "Together Forever" image from Lili of the Valley that I bought thanks to Jacque's voucher - thank you Jacque! I followed the sketch from Everybody Art Challenge. The beautiful pleated ribbon comes from Ladybug Crafts Ink: that's right, Kerry now sells ribbon by the yard and if you're a ribbon lover then you should visit her store because her ribbons are really gorgeous! (I think you'll see some other of her ribbons on my cards soon...) and you can check the LCI stamps while you're at it :)

TLT - Totally Ladybug Tuesday - WOW (white on white)

It's Totally Ladybug Tuesday again! This week's challenge has been set by Michele and it is "white on white" (only color allowed in the image). Time to play with textures! I used both dry embossing (the dots and the fleur de lys medallion) and heat embossing with clear powder on the horizontal and vertical strips (I used the Papertrey Ink Basic Background - Diamonds stamp that Kerry sent me - thanks Kerry!). My embossing powder contains a bit of glitter, and with the glitter I added to the image for the snow, my card is very sparkly IRL! The petals of the flower are rolled one by one around a pencil body to give them a bit of dimension and the center of the flower is fixed with 3D foam. The image I used is Buttercup with bird on head.
I followed the sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches (however as I had to wait for our challenge opening time to post this message, it is too late for entering their challenge). I would like to enter the following challenges:

TLT - Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Spring colors

Mermaid Nikki

It's time for another Totally Ladybug Tuesday! This time, Sue chose the theme for Ladybug Crafts Ink challenge and she chose "Spring Colours". For my card I used the Mermaid Nikki stamp and I followed the sketch from Claudia for Cori's blog-anniversary.

Friday Sketchers #144 and Tickled Pink Stamps Christmas Challenge

The theme of the Christmas challenge at Tickled Pink Stamps is traditional Christmas colours (green, red and gold). Suits my plans well, since I have decided to make Christmas cards all year round this year to be less in a rush at the end of the year, and Lisa sent me some nice traditional Christmas papers recently. So I took my Mollie Mittens Christmas stamp and made a card following Friday Sketchers sketch.

Sweet November Stamps preview - Pisces

Pisces

You may already know that Sweet November Stamps is having a new release on March 7th. This release is called Zodiac Girls. When Amy, the designer who draws Sweet November Stamps, had a call on her blog for previewing the new stamps, I immediately knew I wanted to be in! I was so glad when she accepted my application and gave me this little beauty to showcase...
So this is Pisces, that I've used in her digi form (she will be available at All That Scraps store on March 7th in both digi and rubber). I made this card for a friend whose birthday is on March 6th (so she really is Pisces). The sentiments are in French, here's what they mean:

  • Daily Horoscope, Pisces, March 6th 2011
  • You will move to a next stage today. Don't hesitate and rely on your friends, they will be around for you.

It is phrased to look like an actual horoscope, and refers to the party we're having on that exact day with many of her friends coming to see her. Hope she will like it (and hope she's not reading my blog today!)

Today you can see previews of two stamps of this Zodiac Girls release: Pisces (shown here) and Aquarius. To see the other previews of the day, please visit Amy (the designer who drew the stamps), Nancy (DT member of Sweet November Stamps) and Carisa (who, like me, had the luck to be guest designer for this release and is previewing Aquarius).

TLT - Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Stitching (faux or real)

Teddy Bear Robyn

Welcome to a new challenge at Ladybug Crafts Ink! This time the theme has been chosen by Anita and it is stitching - faux or real. I used real machine stitching and I quite like it even if it is not completely straight... I used Teddy Bear Robyn image and this card is made of stuff coming from many friendly origins: the twine on the tag has been recycled by my mum, the lace comes from Dawny as part of a blog candy, the papers are from a Basic Grey Eva pad that Mary J sent me as part of a swap and the rhinestone flower is from Natalia whom I met on a French cardmaking forum. Once transformed into a card, all those sweet stuff will travel to another friend... I just love how blogging works!
I would like to submit this card to the following challenges:
Hope you can join in this week's challenge at LCI, and you know what? The rules have changed! Now you can win even if you don't have a LCI stamp on your creation, so come on and play with us!
